Mrs. Ruth Katherine Wright Taylor, age 86, died Thursday at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility after a long illness. She was a member of St. Mathew?s Catholic Church. Mrs. Taylor enjoyed cooking, singing, and was a talented potter and painter. She was a wonderful and very devoted wife and mother and always a pillar of strength for her family. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Kenneth Taylor.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Karen Lambie and her husband Tom of Statesboro, and Rebecca and Henry Scott of Brasstown, N.C.; two grandchildren, Rory Taylor Gager Scott and Fiona Leah Octavia Scott, both of Brasstown, N.C.; four sisters, Betty Landis, Mable Howell, and Sue Bridges, all of Hayesville, N.C., and Bertha Ricks of Gainsville, Fla. She was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation for Mrs. Taylor will be held Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 4:00 P.M. at St. Mathew?s Catholic Church with Father Tim McKeown officiating.
Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
