Ruth Rogers

Mrs. Ruth H. Rogers, age 68 of Marble, passed away February 3, 2015 at Murphy Medical Center. Mrs. Rogers was born May 7, 1946 in Towns Co, GA to the late Arbra Hunnicutt and Beulah Schuler Hunnicutt. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, of Marble, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, Arbra Hunnicutt and mother, Beulah Hunnicutt. Ruth was an avid reader, enjoyed nature and visiting Cades Cove and loved spending time with family.

Survivors include: husband, Jimmy Denny Rogers, daughter & son-in-law, Betty (Tony) Patton, son & daughter-in-law, Scott (Robin) Rogers, son, Jason Brad Rogers, sister, Ruby (Harold) Rhindhart, brother, William "Bill" Hunnicutt, sister-in-law, Eva (Harold) McCray, sister-in-law, Stella Doran, grandchildren, Stacia Jumper, Aaron Patton, Derek Patton, Christie Lackey & Aiden Hernandez.

Funeral services: Thursday, February 5, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Marble, NC with the Rev Bo Ford officiating. Mrs. Rogers will lie in state at the church from 1:00 pm until service time. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Aaron & Derek Patton, Chris Jumper, Jay Arrowood, Timmy Hogsed & Eddy Hayes. Honorary pallbearers:Aiden Hernandez, Wade & Lucas Henson.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, NC. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
