Ruby Shepard Brown

Mrs. Ruby Shepard Brown, 85, of Blairsville and formerly of Thomaston, died Wednesday, March 25th, 2015.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be held on Friday, March 27th, 2015 at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Crowe will officiate and burial will follow in South View Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born on November 12, 1929, a daughter of the late James Shepard and Linnie Shepard. She was formerly a bookkeeper in the Food Services Division for Upson County Board of Education.
Mrs. Brown and her husband, the late Wallace Brown, moved to Blairsville in 2007. She attended the First Baptist Church of Blairsville and was a former member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church.
She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and watching the Atlanta Braves on television.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Debbie Crowe of Blairsville, and her son, Richard Brown of Birmingham, AL. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family of Mrs. Brown will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 1 pm until the funeral hour.
Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements, and Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of arrangements locally.
