Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death and graveside services for Mrs. Ruby Louise Adams, age 92, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, who passed away on Thursday evening, April 23rd, 2020, peacefully at her home.
Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the late Felton Hughes and the late Roxie Bridges Hughes. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she had been preceded in death by her husband, Warren Adams, in 2001; two sisters: Edith Rich and Ivy Potts; and two brothers, Dennis Hughes and Alfred Hughes.
Mrs. Adams leaves behind a legacy of love for her family: son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Tutie Donaldson, of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Frank Wimpey, of Steeles Tavern, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Peter Torres of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Judy Adams, of Blairsville; ten grandchildren: Teresa Colditz, Keith and Pat Donaldson, Justin and Julia Wimpey, Crystal and Greg Nichols, Jonathon and Krystal Adams, Tim and Lori Byers, Jason Byers, Eric and Julie Byers, Joshua and Gina Wimpey, and Jeremy and Nickie Wimpey; twenty-two great grandchildren also survive.
Due to concerns regarding COVID 19, the family will be having a private graveside service at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jonathon Hood officiating. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: Keith Donaldson, Will Donaldson, Ed Terry, Jonathon Adams, Presley Rich, and Greg Nichols. Requested to serve as honorary escort to the family is Brady Tanner.
