Rozelle B. McCoy

Rozelle B. McCoy, age 100, of McCaysville, Georgia passed away on March, 7, 2023 at her home.  Mrs. McCoy was born on January, 29, 1923 to Homer Clayton Burgess and Julia Ellizabeth Waters Burgess.  Rozelle was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands; Glenn Morgan Higdon and George McCoy; her sister, Rena Mary Weeks, and grandson, Matt Stevens.

Mrs. McCoy had been employed by for many years by Sears and Roebuck in the credit center operations.  She was a true Atlanta Braves fan, enjoyed country music, reading and doing word search puzzles.  Rozelle always enjoyed hanging out with her late grandson Matt Stevens while doing chores, repairs and maintenance work. She was a long time member of the Epworth Methodist Church. 

Mrs. McCoy is survived by her children, Marilyn Frazier, Glen (Brenda) Higdon and Clayton (Teresa) Higdon, along with step children Mark McCoy and Monty (Debbie) McCoy. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.   

A memorial service and gathering of family and friends is scheduled to be held at the Mount Liberty Baptist Church in McCaysville, Georgia on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 12 noon with Rev. Bryon Ahrens officiating and music by Matt Scoggins.  A graveside service will follow the church service gathering in the Mount Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
