Roy Richards

Roy John Richards age 79, of Canton, passed away Thursday, February 24th, 2011 at Cartersville Heights Nursing Home in Cartersville, GA. He was born January 30th, 1932 in Benton, TN to the late Herman Richards and Lizzie Rogers Richards. He served in the Army for ten years and in the Air Force for twelve years. A member of New Union Baptist Church in Blairsville.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie Richards, son, Gary (Ely) Richards, son, Alan (Laura) Richards, brother, James Richards, sister, Ruby Goodin, sister, Vergie Reece, sister, Jessie Cobb, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Richards will be on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Henry Cochran Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 2:30pm from the New Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Harrison Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
