Mr. Roy Leon McCray, age 57, of Hayesville, NC passed away Friday, February 5, 2010 at his home.
Mr. McCray was born on Saturday, January 17, 1953 in Clay, NC, to Theron and Ellavee Canup McCray. Roy loved children and enjoyed a good joke. He always looked forward to listening to Rev. Aud Brown on the radio. Mr. McCray was preceded in death by his parents, Theron and Ellavee McCray and one Brother, Ronnie McCray.
Survivors include: sisters, Arthel Davis, Clara Davis and Helen Oliver, all of Hayesville, NC, Gladys Ware of Murphy, NC and Lou Ware and Betty Carter, both of Hayesville, NC; Brothers, Everett McCray of Hayesville, NC, Clifton McCray of Oakwood, GA and Ralph McCray and Michael McCray, both of Hayesville, NC. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 at 3:00 PM from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dallas Crowder, Rev. Steve Ware and Rev. Aud Brown officiating. Music will be provided by Diane Russell, Jimmy Anderson and Larry Shelton. Pallbearers will be Dwayne McCray, Jesse McCray, Randy McCray, Bobby Davis, Rex Davis, Ray Ware and Greg Carter. Roger Spiva will serve as honorary pallbearer. Burial will follow in the Fires Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
