Rowal Everett Kurtz

Rowal E. Kurtz of Blairsville,passed away peacefully Wed. Jan 26,2022 at his home. Rowal was born in Manitowoc,Wisc on September 18,1937.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Walter Kurtz and  his mom,Vera Kurtz and sister Beverly Damato Thompson . He was a US Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Sellstrom Kurtz, daughter Terri Lippert (Rick) of Roan Mtn Tenn, Robin Pickel (Chris) of Lake Toxaway, NC, grand daughter Kalee Nagel and great granddaughter Kaia Cole. He retired from Progress Energy Florida in St.Petersburg Fl. now Duke Energy in 1994 after 27 years of service.He loved Volkswagen beetles and model trains. He was a member of the Mountain Air Headz VW club here in Blairsville. He had a HO model railroad layout for years. He was a member of the Suncoast Railway Historical Society  in St.Petersburg, Fl.and the Tampa Bay National Railway Historical Society . He also was involved in a Ham Radio Club in St.Petersburg.Fl. He picked up Saxaphone after almost 50 years and played in New Horizons Concert and Jazz Band in Rome Ga.He loved to play with any kind of woodworking and loved to help others with his handy man ministry.  Rowal enjoyed the fellowship of other believers in his Sunday School class and in the choir at House of Prayer Blairsville.

Celebration of Life service will be Sunday, February 6 at 2 PM at House of Prayer Church with Pastor Jeff Olver, Pastor Jerry Helton and Pastor Tom Langford officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to the House of Prayer Church of Blairsville, designated "CLBC Bible Camp Fund", or to "Building Fund".
