Rosa "Belle" Barnes, age 90 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 at her home. Belle was born Sunday, June 3, 1917 in Fannin to the late Samuel P. Roper and the late Ellen Arimda Davis Roper. She was one of the oldest members of Toccoa Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years Ishmael E. Barnes, special grandsons, Brian Lackhouse Barnes and George Price, sister, Gertrude Chastain, a very special brother-in-law she always called son and best friend George Barnes, sons- in-law, Donald Ginn and Walter Price, brothers, Jack and Everett Roper, and sister Stella Roper Roper.
Her children and grandchildren will forever cherish her guidance, her unconditional love, her prayers and the faith she instilled in each of us.
Survivors include: daughter & special friend, Juanita Price and Don Turner of Mineral Bluff, daughter & son-in-law, Ellen & Evan Underwood of Smyrna, daughter, Jackie Ginn of Woodstock, son & daughter-in-law, Keith & Brenda Barnes of Mineral Bluff, sister- in-law, Louise Barnes, sister-in-law, Christelle Longenecher, sister-in-law, Idell Skaggs and sister-in- law, Trudy Barnes, granddaughter & husband, Pat & Steve Whitaker, grandson & wife, Jerome & Brean Underwood, granddaughter, Sheryl Burkhalter, granddaughter & Friend, Angel Gin & Lee Lee, granddaughter & husband, Michelle & Dale Green, granddaughter & husband, Amanda & Jason Evanson, great-granddaughter & husband, Dawn & Gregg Jameson, great-granddaughter & husband, Richard & Heather Gazaway, great-grandchildren, Chase & Chasity Green, great-great granddaughter, Teeghan Annabelle Jameson, nieces & nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 2:00PM from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Music will be provided by Danny Cochran, Johanson and Beverly Thompson. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are: Jason Evanson, Dale Green, Richard Gazaway, Jerome Underwood, Gregg Jameson and Chase Green. .
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9, Sunday and Monday.
