Ronald Timothy Jabaley

Dr. Ronald Timothy Jabaley Sr., 73, of McCaysville, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013. He was born and raised in Copperhill, TN and was a graduate of West Fannin High School, class of 1958. He earned a docorate of optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1966.

Dr. Jabaley served in the Army from 1966 to 1968, being discharged with a rank of captain. Following his discharge, he founded Jabaley Eye Care in August of 1968 where he practiced his entire career. Known for a punishing handshake, he loved golf, Georgia Tech football, his dog "Buzz", and being home. Most of all, he loved his family!

He is preceded in death by his father Richard Jabaley Sr., mother Minnie Jabaley, and brother Sammy Jabaley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Myra Kay Jabaley; sons Dr. Ronald Timothy Jabaley Jr. and Dr. Samuel Christopher Jabaley; daughter Leslie Jabaley Johnson; daughter-in-law Dr.Jennifer Jean Jabaley; grandchildren Olivia Jabaley, Timothy Jabaley, Samuel Jabaley, Isabella Jabaley, and Miles Johnson; brothers Richard Jabaley, Anthony Jabaley, and Joseph Jabaley; sisters Judy Ward, and Lynnda Jabaley;

Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at Finch-Cochran funeral home with an 8pm Rosary Service. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Divine Mercy in care of St. Catherine Laboure' Catholic Church (p.o. box 1165, Copperhill TN, 37317).
