Ronald DeMarco

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces memorial services for Mr. Ronald Charles DeMarco, age 79, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, in Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, North Carolina.

Ron was born in Oak Park, Illinois, on July 1, 1936, a son of the late Louis DeMarco and the late Helen Comstock DeMarco. He had proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Ron was owner of DeMarco Homes, Inc. in Boca Raton, Florida. He and his wife retired to Blairsville in 1989 after living here part-time since 1980. Ron was an accomplished sports car racer for over 25 years. He was an active member of the Sports Car Club of America during those years. Besides his parents, Ron had been preceded in death by a brother, Robert DeMarco.

Ron was dearly loved and will be greatly missed, especially by his loving family members: wife, Rita Davis DeMarco, of Blairsville; daughters and sons-in-law: Diane and Ivan Acker, and Laura and Dan Van Slyke. Two grandchildren: Ivan Benton Acker III and Laura Ann Lynn Acker.

Memorial services have been scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 4:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon, starting at 3:00 p.m., before the service starts at 4:00 p.m.
