Roger Phillip Spargo

Roger Phillip Spargo, age 74, of Chester, VA formerly of Ducktown passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2007. He was born in Ducktown, TN the son of the late Mark Hannah Spargo and Minerva Taylor Spargo. Phil was a graduate of Ducktown, TN High school, class of 1950, and the University of Tenessee Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Genevieve Mary Burger Spargo. Mr. Spargo served his country in the U.S. Navy, he was the former President of Ducktown Banking Company and retired in 1993 from American Tobacco Company after approximately 20 yrs. His hobbies included golf, boating and fishing. He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Hilliard of Fayetteville, AR and Martie Jean Spargo Campbell of Chester, VA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6 till 9 Thursday evening May 3, 2007 In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Northwest Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute (NARTI) 5835 West Sunset Ave, Springdale, AR 72762.
