Robin Lynn Gard, 52, of Murphy, NC, died in hospice care surrounded by loved ones on February 12, 2018, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Robin was born in Harvey, IL on July 28, 1965. She was the daughter of Elaine (Jurgeson) and Richard M. Crowe. She relocated from the Chicago area to Naples, Florida in 1986, where she was superintendent of emergency dispatch/911 services. She moved to Blue Ridge in 1999, and was a realtor with Coldwell Banker.
Professionally, Robin was known for her thoroughness, attention to detail, and comprehensive knowledge of the tri-state real estate market. She enjoyed people: getting to know, working with, and most of all, helping them. Her co-workers at Coldwell Banker were family to her, and she loved being part of that team.
Well known for her love of, and commitment to, animals of all kinds, she could regularly be found assisting with trap-neuter-release programs for feral cats, volunteering at the annual Paws in the Park, and taking many animals to their forever home at her beloved North Carolina farm, including her two pot bellied pigs, Jimmy Dean and Piggy Sue. Her farm was a haven for both her and myriad horses, chickens, turkeys, cats and dogs.
Robin brought light, laughter and love with her wherever she went. Her mother, Elaine Crowe, of Murphy, NC, and a large group of friends, all of whom will miss her dearly, survive her.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Copperhill, Tennessee, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
