Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Roberta S. Coker, age 94, of Blairsville, who passed away Sunday evening, July 24, 2011, at her home.

Mrs. Coker was born in Union County, Georgia, on September 8, 1916, a daughter of the late Grady Satterfield and the late Mary Potts Satterfield. She was a homemaker and a member of Zebulon Baptist Church in Blairsville. In addition to her parents, she had been preceded in death by a daughter, Joann Long; a sister, Dorothea Dyer; two brothers, Frank Satterfield and Matt Satterfield; and a grandson, Michael Coker.

She is survived by and lovingly remembered by her husband of 71 years, George Alfred Coker; three sons and daughters-in-law: Wayne and Brenda Coker, of Dacula, Georgia; David and Geraldine Coker, of Blairsville; Bill and Carolyn Coker, of Suches, Georgia; son-in-law and his wife, Jerry and Lillian Long, of Jasper, Georgia; a sister, Louise Howell, of Brooks, Georgia; six grandchildren: Rhonda and Marshall Mullins, Andy and Carol Coker, Byron and Elisa Long, Vivian and Greg Hughes, Sara and Joseph Cooper, and Mollie Coker; ten great grandchildren also survive, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Coker have been scheduled for Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., in Zebulon Baptist Church, with Rev. Randy Hughes, Rev. Ray Potts, and Rev. R.L. Martin officiating. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Olin Hughes, Junior Bridges, David Chatham, Leonard Sosebee, Kenneth Cook, and Neal Rusk. Burial will be in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Monday evening, from 6 until 10 p.m.
