Robert Steele, 65, passed away on December 23, 2023, in Asheville, NC. Robert Steele was born on March 24, 1958 in Lorain, OH, to Hubert Steele and Delores Ann Hughes. Robert enjoyed life fishing was his passion and loved everyone he came across.
 
Robert is survived by Rhonda Steele (spouse) of 47 years, two sons Eric Steele of Murphy and Matthew (Kim) Steele of Knoxville, TN, four sisters Judy (Joey) Hill, Mary Steele, Carla (Terry) Anderson, Tammy Hughes, three brothers Shane Hughes, Jason (Amy) Hughes, Gage (Jessica) Hughes, five granddaughters Anna (Allen) Warman, Brittany Steele, Eve Steele, Corrine Steele, Alyssa Steele, one grandson Joshua Steele, two great grandsons and many other family members.
 
Robert is preceded in death by Hubert Steele (father), Delores (Dodie) Plato (mother), Bill Hughes (stepfather), Dawn Hughes (sister-in-law).  
 
A Celebration of Life for Robert Lee Steele will be held on December 31, 2023, at 1:00pm at Cochran Funeral Homes of Murphy.
