Rev. Robert "Glenn" Collis, age 81 of Blue Ridge, passed away October 23, 2013.

Rev. Collis was a Levi Strauss retiree and a US Army Veteran. He became an Ordained Baptist Minister in 1971 and over the years pastored Harmony Baptist Church, Damascus Baptist Church, Colwell Baptist Church, Youngs Chapel Baptist Church, Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Fannin County, and New Hope Baptist Church in Gilmer County. He was a member of Colwell Baptist Church and served as pastor there until August 25, 2013.

Rev. Collis was born November 7, 1931 in Fannin County. He is the son of the late Allen Clay Collis and the late Gaily Garrison Collis. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, sisters: Ruth Anderson, Edith Cochran, Brothers: Clint Collis, Earl Collis, and Young Rose.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Millsaps Collis of the home; son: Joel Collis, Atlanta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Randall Watkins, Blue Ridge, GA; Grandchildren: Jason and Alicia Watkins, Dahlonega, GA; Carrie and Ben Jordan, Canton, GA; sisters: Ada Callihan, Grace Callihan, and Juanita Schwab, all of Blue Ridge, GA.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Cantrell, Rev. Bill Johnson, and Rev. James Worley officiating. Music will be provided by friends from area churches. Interment will follow in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery

Serving as pallbearers: Jason Watkins, Ben Jordan, Morris Callihan, John Chastain, Gerald Williamson, and Nathan Chancey. Special honorary pallbearer: Guinn Williamson .

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
