Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory announces memorial services for Mr. Robert Phillip Likon (Bob), born June 5, 1938 in New York, New York, died at 77 on March 12, 2016 in Blairsville, Georgia. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Diane Thomas Likon. Bob was the second son of Richard and Lilac Likon, brother to Richard S. Likon (Susan) of Orlando, Florida and predeceased by Ronald W. Likon (1940-2008) (Jane) of Port St. John, Florida.
Bob moved to Rockledge, Florida in the early 1940s and was a graduate of Cocoa High School, class of 1957. After attending Sewanee, the University of South, Bob served in the US Army in Germany. After his time in the service, he worked at the Kennedy Space Center over 35 years in support of both the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. He was a recipient of both the Silver Snoopy and Manned Space Flight Awareness awards. In his spare time, Bob was a muscle car enthusiast and a talented model builder.
Bob and Diane moved from Rockledge to Blairsville in 2003. They are active members of the House of Prayer have been blessed with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His children include: Lila (Chris), Roger (Jenny), Colette (Ken), and Monique (David). Known as PopPop, his grandchildren include: Bethany, Brittanie, Ty, Christopher, Madeline, Payton, Marisa, Abigail, Lauren, Samantha, Makenzie, Brooke, Korben, and Evan. Great-grandchildren: Audrey and Aaron.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the House of Prayer Interdenominational Church, with Pastor Jerry Helton officiating.
