Robert Lee Berrong

Mr. Robert Lee Berrong, 80 of Murphy, NC passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the Murphy Medical Center. He was born April 8, 1935 in Cherokee County, NC to the late Robert Dillard and the late Willie Belle Whitaker Berrong. A member of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two sisters, Mary Reynolds and Jean Ramsey. Robert enjoyed trading cars and going to the races in his spare time.

Survivors include loving wife, Barbara Lee Barnett Berrong, son, Sammy & wife Christy Berrong, and daughter, Sheila Berrong.

Funeral services will be held Friday evening, September 4, 2015 at 8:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Jones and Rev. Chris Furl officiating. Music will be provided by Montrese Hardin and Clara Wilson. Interment will take place at a later date in the Peachtree Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
