Robert Earl Palmer
June 16, 1955 — September 16, 2017
Robert Earl Palmer, age 62 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away early Saturday morning, September 16, 2017 following a long struggle with cancer. He was born in Tampa, FL to Gloria Palmer and the late Charles Palmer.
He is survived by his daughter Kelley Palmer, mother Gloria Palmer, sister Kathy Palmer, sister and brother-in-law Mary Beth and Dennis Thrift. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Palmer and brother Allen Palmer.
He graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical College in Daytona Beach, FL. He served two years in the Air Force and then went to work in the aviation field and worked for Gulfstream Aerospace in Dallas, TX and Savannah, GA for over 30 years. He loved his job and was able to fly all over the world and met so many interesting people. He has made numerous friends throughout his career and they will all miss his dry wit. Everyone who met him, loved him!
Cremation was provided by Cochran Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held at Mountain Presbyterian Church in Blairsville, GA on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 1:30 pm.
