Rita Davis DeMarco

Rita Bernice Davis DeMarco, 80, of Hoschton, GA, passed away on January 7, 2021 at Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Rita is survived by her daughters Diane Acker (Ivan), Laura Van Slyke (Dan), her bother Stanley Davis, her grandchildren Ivan Benton Acker, III and Laura Ann Lynn Acker, and her cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Charles DeMarco and her parents, Bernice and Walther Davis.

Rita was born on March 4, 1940 in Elmhurst, IL. She grew up in Elmhurst and Villa Park, IL. She spent most of her adult life in Boca Raton, FL, where she raised her family and was an active volunteer. She devoted her time to the Boca Raton Garden Club, the City Beautification Commitee, the Girl Scouts, and many other charitable causes.

Rita retired to and was a resident of Blairsville, GA from the early 1980’s until 2020. Those years were equally active. Her volunteer service included the Union County Historical Society, Friends of Vogel State Park, Quilts of Valor, and the Byron Herbert Reese Homestead. Rita was the former owner of Log Cabin Patchworks in Hiawassee, GA. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for almost 40 years.

A funeral Mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Blairsville, Thursday, May 6th at 11am.
