Ricky Walker

With heavy hearts,  we announce the passing of Ricky Walker on February 11, 2025 after a short battle of pancreatic cancer.   Ricky was born on April 21, 1973 in Gastonia,  NC.

Ricky was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend to many. Ricky had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting with his sons Nathan and Colin and daughter Amelia, and enduring passion for classic cars. Above all, he cherished his role as husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his family first with love and dedication. His kindness, humor, and legacy of devotion will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Ricky was preceded in death by his mother Erma Wright-Walker and sister Lori Kilby.

He is survived by his wife Melissa Walker and their children Paige Thorley and son-in-law Tommy Thorley; son Nathan Walker; daughter Amelia Walker; and son Colin Walker; and Andrea Thomas who is his niece, but like a daughter to us.  He is also survived by his father Sherdie "Gene" Walker; sister Elizabeth Anderson; sister Melissa Card and brother-in-law Michael Card; brother Kenneth Oliver and sister-in-law Sharon Oliver; brother James Walker; brother-in-law Frederick Slough; brother-in-law Thomas Slough; grandson Nikolai Walker; granddaughter Amalee Walker; grandson Mikah Thorley; grandson Kai Thorley; granddaughter Erabella Thorley; grandson Ira Thorley; grandson Bodie Thorley; many nieces and nephews; and aunts and uncles. 

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2 p.m. at his residence of 172 Dog Branch Rd., Brasstown, NC  28902.  We will be gathering immediately following the service at the Fellowship Hall of Upper Peachtree Baptist Church with a meal and refreshments served.  Upper Peachtree Baptist Church is located at 3015 Upper Peachtree Rd., Murphy, NC 28906.
