Rick Browning

Mr. Richard Joel "Rick" Browning, age 49, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at his home in Blairsville.

Rick was born in Germany, on Wednesday, January 15, 1964, a son of Charles Weyman Browning and Sue Sanders Browning. He had lived in Blairsville for the past 29 years, moving here from Lanett, Alabama. Rick was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and also a past member and past President of the Union County Rotary Club. Rick's mother, Sue, preceded him in death.

Rick will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, and lovingly missed by his family members: his daughter, Olivia Browning, of Blairsville, Georgia; his son, Evan Browning, of Blairsville, Georgia; his father, Chuck Browning, of Palm Harbor, Florida; his grandmother, Gradie B. Browning, of Lanett, Alabama; a sister, Elizabeth Strickland, of Martinez, Georgia; and two brothers, Charles K. Browning, of Hudson, Florida, and Michael P. Browning, of Monroe, Georgia. Many friends and other relatives will also miss Rick.

Funeral services for Rick have been scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Dwayne Patterson officiating. Special music will be presented by Sheila Partin and Martha Davenport. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Michael Browning, Chuck Browning, Larry Chambers, John Blakeley, Jerry Smith, and Rob Strickland, with burial in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville on Tuesday evening, from 6 until 9 p.m.
