Richard "Dick" McClain, from Hiawassee, Georgia, formerly of North Port, Florida, passed away of natural causes on Friday, August 10, 2012. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Kathryn "Kitty" McClain; six children and seven grandchildren. His children include Diane Hollenbaugh, Scott McClain, Dean McClain, Lori Mummert, Shawn McClain and Mark McClain. His grandchildren include Christopher Hollenbaugh, Aubrey Montgomery, Luke Mummert, Jacob McClain, Derek Mummert, Curtis McClain and Nick McClain. Dick began his career managing and owning several American, Texaco, Mobil and Gulf Service Stations. He later owned a Best Bros. Paint and Wallcovering franchise in Harrisburg, PA. He moved to Rotonda, FL in 1984 and began "Precision Paperhanging". He retired in 2003. Dick built numerous churches throughout Florida and was a member of the Murdock Baptist Church in Port Charlotte, FL and McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee. Memorial services and celebrations will be held at Laurel Hills Memorial Gardens on August 25, 2012 in Hiawassee.
