Mr. Richard Perry Griffin, age 83 of Murphy, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at the Murphy Rehab and Nursing Center. Mr. Griffin was born January 1, 1935 in Portland, ME to the late Elmer Griffin and the late Lena Perry Griffin. Richard worked as a credit manager for the New York Times and he drew political cartoons for the Tuesday Weekly in Ellsworth, Me. and was a cartoonist up until his passing. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to Jazz music and playing golf, also he was a Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include loving wife, Linda Griffin, his twin daughters, April Poulin and Melody Wright, his daughter, Sheri Crosson, two step-children, Chris Tanner and Jamie Tanner Reece, four grandchildren, Amanda Poulin, Travis Poulin, Courtney Wright and Cristin Wright, four step-grandchildren, Josh Reece, Christopher Reece, Andrew Tanner and Audrey Tanner, one great-grandchild and one step-great-grandson, Jayden Reece.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
