Richard Donald Roberts

Mr. Richard Donald Roberts, age 77, of Blairsville, GA passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville. Mr. Roberts was a native of New York, and graduated in 1950 from Croton Central High School in Groton, New York. He had lived in the Blairsville area for one year, moving here from Hernando, Florida. Mr. Roberts was a Master Mason, and had been married for 59 years.

Surviving family members include his wife, Laura Roberts, of the home; children: Ramona Steward and Tim Roberts, both of Hernando; and Kanina Palmer, of Williamson, New York; sisters and brothers: Phyllis Ellis, of Inverness, Florida; David Roberts, of Hernando, Florida; Harold Roberts, of New Port Richey, Florida; and Dorothy Newmecek, of Lake Como, New York; grandchildren: Tyler Palmer, Kierstyn Palmer, Arianna Palmer, and Nathaniel Palmer.

No services are planned at this time. If you so desire, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to either: the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or to CMTA: Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association at CMTA.org.
