Richard Alvin Stanley, age 75, of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday morning, September 25, 2017, at his home. Richard was born November 25, 1941, to the late Herbert Alvin Stanley and the late Lucille Long Stanley.
Richard was a husband, dad, brother, papaw, mail carrier, and Farmer. He was a member of Dial Church Of Christ, had served as Fannin Commissioner for 20 years, served as supervisor for Blue Mountain Soil and Water Conversation District, also served as secretary of Limestone Valley RC&D Council and board member of AgrAbility Project.
Survivors include wife, Charlotte Ann Woody Stanley, daughter, Amie (Nat) Smith, sister, Ruth (Keith) Hunter, sister, Vivian (Larry) McLemore, brother, Terry (Vickie) Stanley, grandchildren, Nathaniel Gavin Smith, and Colby Gaige Smith.
Funeral services: Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 2:00 pm from Dial Church of Christ with Minister Tommy Kyle officiating. Music provided by William Wright. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Nathaniel Gavin Smith, Colby Gaige Smith, Nat Smith, Terry Stanley, Keith Stanley, and Chris Stanley. Honorary pallbearers: Earnie Sellers, Keith Hunter, Eddie Stanley, David Stanley, and Merle Long.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home. Tuesday, September 26, 2017, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
