Rhonda Marie Dowell

April 8, 1987 — April 6, 2013

The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Rhonda Marie Dowell, age 25 who passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013.

Rhonda was born April 8, 1987 in Bradenton, Florida to James & Sonja Torsell Pearson. James passed away and Sonja later married Phil Nastyn, who adopted Rhonda and raised her as his own. She was the Wiley Coyote to his Road Runner. The family used to call her "Little Miss Tuffy" because she wasn't afraid of anything embracing chances to meet new people and gain new experiences. Even at a young age she was outgoing and willing to help others. Rhonda was passionate about anything she was involved in. With a musical talent she played the French Horn in the Union County Middle and High School Band. She served as an Acolyte at St. Claire's and Shepherd of the Hills Churches. She enjoyed riding horses, swimming and living life in the mountains. Rhonda loved to cook and had ambitions of being a chef one day. She attended Anthem College earning an Associates Degree. A perfect example of a great person, who was caught up in bad things and couldn't find a way out. With great sadness the world has lost a loving mother, a devoted daughter, a supportive sister and a caring friend.

She will be remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: husband, Tim Dowell; 6 year old daughter, Angel Marie Dowell; 8 year old son, Damien Anthony Dowell; parents, Phil & Sonja Nastyn; sister, Mary Margret Nastyn and best friend, Toni Pennington.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Richard Rivera officiating. Final resting place will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Terry Dowell, Alex Dowell, Ken Pearson, Dewayne Wright, Kyle Smith and Jeremy Fletcher. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 until 9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cochran Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
