Rhoda Welch (Joyce)

Mrs.Rhoda Joyce Welch, age 90, of McCaysville, passed away July 16, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Welch was born February 5, 1921 in Fannin County, GA to the late John H. Joyce and the late Ida Tuck Joyce. Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Forrest Welch, father, John H. Joyce, mother, Ida Tuck Joyce, daughter, Earlene Marie Welch, brothers, Plyze Joyce, Buford Joyce, and sisters, Iowa Ross, Agnes Joyce, Reba Burk and Priscilla White.

Rhoda was a fun loving person. She stated that it was her aim in life to make you laugh, and she did just that.

Rhoda's survivors are son, Alton Welch, daughter, Robin (Chuck) Taylor, son, Lane (Yvette) Welch, daughter, Tammy Welch and sister, Edith Joyce, and five grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitchell Taylor officiating, and the eulogy was given by Dr. V.L. Cantrell Music was provided by Raven Welch, Rev. Scott Graves & family, and Rev. A. J. Heaton. Serving as Pallbearers will include Willy Burk, Lucas Burk, Roland Cantrell, Danny Welch, Randy Cross and Interment followed in Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery.
