Renette Alcie Foster

Renette Alcie Foster, age 73, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 20, 2022. Renette was born on October, 25, 1948 as the eleventh child of Lewis Parker and Willie Marie Foster. 

Renette was a kind, loving, and caring woman. She loved to go fishing on the banks of Lake Nottely, where she caught countless fish that she would clean, skin, and fry up for her family to enjoy every Fourth of July. When she wasn’t casting her line, she was sitting at her table working on a complex yet stunning puzzle, or she was lounging in her chair watching one of her many favorite Westerns. Renette appreciated the little things in life, and her life is a testament to the beauty of simplicity.

Renette is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Parker and Willie Marie Galloway Foster; her sisters, Carmon, Evelyn, and Clella Foster; her brother, Kermit Foster; her brother, Kenneth (Nita Mae) Foster; her sister, Regina (C.J.) Patterson; her brother, Keith (Clara) Foster; her sister-in-law, Betty Foster; and her sister, Reba Sosebee. Surviving her are her brothers, Keiter Foster and Kendell (Frances) Foster; sister-in-law, Caroline Foster; brother-in-law, Marcus Sosebee. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. 

Renette was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended services, proclaimed salvation, and handed out chewing gum from the back pew. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Cochran Funeral Home chapel in Blairsville. Officiating are Rev. Harold Underwood and Rev. Ronnie Dilbeck. Special music will be provided by Rita Hemphill and Megan Foster. The following men have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Randy Brown, Kent Foster, Kevin Foster, Terry Foster, Spud Hemphill, and Michael Patterson. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Byers, Steve Byers, Butch Foster, David Foster, Keith Foster, Jr., Kerry Foster, and Steve Foster. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Cochran Funeral Home.
