Mrs. Ree Hogsed Hunter, age 85, of Hiawassee, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at The Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hunter was born in Clay County, NC to the late Charles & Weltha Anderson Hogsed on May 7, 1932. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and retired after sixteen years at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home where she held many positions, the latest being an administrative assistant. She was also an avid collector of many treasures, also known as "junk". Those preceding her in death were her Husband, J.D Hunter; Brothers, Harold Hogsed and Howard Hogsed; Sisters, Helen Bradley and Louise Parker and Grandson Travis Waldroup.
She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her but especially missed by her family: Daughters, Judy Waldroup of Hiawassee, GA and Janet Hunter of Wake Forest, NC. Also sharing in her legacy is her Granddaughter, Lori Giddens (Wallace) of Hiawassee, GA and Granddaughter-in-law, Lindsey Waldroup of Hiawassee, GA.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Chatuge Regional Nursing Home, in memory of Mrs. Hunter. Funeral services for Mrs. Hunter are scheduled for Sunday January 28, 2018 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home Of Hiawassee, with Rev. Glen Eller officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Sheila Eller. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Woody, Josh Hogsed, Speed Hunter, Alden Hunter, Bryan Nicholson and Chip Parker.
