Mrs. Ramie Ingram, age 87 of Arden, NC, formerly of Hiawassee, GA passed away Thursday, May 17, 2007 at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.
Mrs. Ingram was born Wednesday, March 31, 1920 in Yankton, SD to the late Henry and Caroline Weiss Poppe. Mrs. Ingram lived in Hiawassee for over 20 years and was a former member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church, Mrs. Ingram was very active in the Appalachian Area Pregnancy Center. She was a charter member of Towns County Hospital Auxillary. She had been chairman of the Mental Health Association in Ft. Pierce, FL, and had been a member of the Florida State Mental Health Board. Mrs. Ingram was a member of Mills River United Methodist Church in Arden, NC., She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Guy Ingram..
Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Sally and David Hutchins of Old Fort, NC, sister, Virginia Frobel of Bartlesville, OK, daughter of the heart, Marcia Deaton of Hiawassee, GA, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Hiawassee United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Thompson and Pastor Harry Sellers officiating. Music will be provided by Steve Carson and Pastor Danny Byers, eulogies will be given by Judge David Barrett and Lorraine Jerrigan. Interment will follow in Osborne Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Deaton, Steve Holland, Bob Ghiotto, Bryant Ivey, Mike Worthy and Rick Jerrigan
The family will receive friends at the the church from 10-11, Monday, May 21.
