Ralph James Brown, 84 of Brasstown, N.C. died Saturday, March 1, 2008. He was born in Normal, Illinois. He had lived in Brasstown for over 25 years. He was a World War II Army Veteran in the African Campagne, the Italian Campagne and was wounded in France.
He was a retired executive at a large corporation in Richmond, VA. Ralph was a master wood carver of animals and an accomplished copper metal sculptor. He enjoyed taking classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School.
He is survived by Virginia Brown, his wife of 62 years, daughter Gretchen Pratt and her husband Gary, son Todd Brown and wife Dolores.
Ralph was a great animal lover and surely would have appreciated in lieu of flowers any donations to the local Humane Society as a memorial to him.
A memorial service will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel of Peachtree at 2 pm Friday, March 7.
