Phyllis Ann Justice

April 1, 1947 — February 5, 2025

Morganton, GA

Phyllis Ann Justice, age 77, went to be with Jesus peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at her home in the Blue Ridge mountains of Georgia surrounded by her family. Phyllis was born April 1, 1947, in Panther, West Virginia to the late Elice and Martha Shrader Bailey. She was their first born with twelve siblings.

Phyllis was an avid traveler who appreciated the outdoors and enjoyed spending her leisure time boating, camping, and skiing. She had a passion for gardening, especially flower gardens, and also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading novels, and listening to country music. She found great pleasure in watching deer in her backyard.

Phyllis' life was a testament to hard work and dedication. Her favorite job was her 10+ years of employment at Panther Elementary School as a cook and kindergarten teacher's aide.

In her later years, she made it a point to walk as much as possible every day. She initiated a walking group at her local senior center and motivated others to join her. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.  She was an exceptional wife and mother fully devoted to her family.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Justice; daughter, Debbie Justice Rutherford; brothers, Clyde Bailey, Earl Bailey, Edward Bailey and Drew Bailey; sisters, Linda Sue Bailey and Sharon Bailey Blankenship.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Donati and step-son, Jesse Justice; brothers, Flem Bailey, Lester Bailey and Johnny Bailey; sisters, Evelyn Bailey, Cathy Bailey Mcfalls, and Joan Bailey Merrill; sisters-in-law Audrey Justice Bailey and Linda Bailey Branch; son-in-law Dale Donati; grandchildren, Jessica McGuire, Michaela McGuire, Justin Rutherford and Danielle Rutherford White; and great-grandson, Gunnar O'Steen.

A private cremation has taken place to honor Phyllis' wishes.
