Mrs. Phyllis Joy Falls, age 69 of Copperhill, TN, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009. Mrs. Falls was born in Polk County, TN. Phyllis graduated from Copper Basin High School in 1957, and she was a member of the first graduating class. After completing her High School education she moved to the Atlanta area where she remained several years. Phyllis returned to the Copper Basin area in 1971 and opened the Burning Bush Christian Book Store in 1973. Phyllis was active with the day to day operations of the book store up until a few months ago. Phyllis attended Pantertown Church of God where she regularly played the piano. Phyllis also taught piano many many years and has see several of her students excel.
She was preceded in death by father, James Daniel Hyatt, mother, Isabell Deal Hyatt, sister, Bobbie Hyatt, and brother, Robby Lynn Hyatt.
Survivors include: husband, Don Falls, son & daughter-in-law, Kenny & Sandy Falls,of Monster, IN; son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Teresa Falls, of Grassy Creek; brother & sister-in-law, Roger & Carol Hyatt, brother, James Daniel Hyatt, Jr., brother & sister-in-law, Walter & Joann Hyatt, brother, Ralph Hyatt, brother, Ricky Hyatt, and sister & brother-in-law, Karen & James Stillwell; and grandchildren Jessica, Jordan, Trevor, and Ivy Falls
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 12, 2009, from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ernest German and with Reverend Roger Hyatt officiating. Music will be provided by Sue Stillwell. Interment will follow in the Hyatt Family Ceremetery. Serving as pallbearers are her five brothers and brother-in-law.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Thursday, June 11, 2009 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
