The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mr. Perry Cline Parker, age 78 of Hiawassee who passed away Saturday morning, August 23, 2014 at his home surrounded by the love of his family.
Mr. Parker was born on April 10, 1936 in Hayesville, North Carolina to the late Boyd & Eura (Ledford) Parker. A man who was small in physical stature yet larger than life itself! Especially in his younger days, Perry held true to the statement that, "Dynamite comes in small packages". He earned his living by the sweat of his brow and strong hands logging timber. Blessed with a marriage of 43 years and 8 children, family meant the world to him. Perry loved having everyone gather together to enjoy the simpler things in life and where he would share his knowledge of catching catfish & trout, raising gardens, canning and so much more. The family will cherish memories of the smell of ramps cooking after a successful hunt in the woods and front porch conversations.
He will be warmly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: loving wife, Jessica Mosteller Parker; son & daughter-in-law, Darrel & Brandy Parker; daughters, Carol Arrendale & Judy Bell; daughters & sons-in-law, Tiny & Dean Gibson, Martha & James Goodwin and Kathie & Roger Tillery; sister, Reba Speed and grandchildren, Evan Parker, Tyler Arrendale, Joshua Wade, Haleigh Gibson, Alexander Gibson, Chris Leachman, Christy Moody, Rhonda Glass, Doster Glass, David Parker & Benny Parker. Also sharing in his Legacy are great granddaughters, Caroline Vera Wade & Breeann Yvonn Wade, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
