Pearl Cross

Mrs. Pearl Cross, age 85 of Hayesville, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at Murphy Medical Center. Mrs. Cross was born September 29, 1925 in Clay Co, NC to the late Homer and Annie Chastain Garrett. She had been an active member of Martin Hill Baptist Church, loved working with her flowers, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, William T. Cross, son, William Cross, Jr., daughter, Eva Cross, son, Larry Ray Cross, sister, Edith Cody, Brother, Jack Garrett, Brother, Bruce Garrett, sister, Helen Bond, sister, Margaret Cheeks, Brother, Omer Lee Garrett, Brother, George Garrett, Brother, James Garrett, sister, Benne Lee Garrett and sister, Edna Holcombe.

Survivors include: daughter, Bertha Ann (Everett) McCray, daughter, Shirley Jo (Mark) Clemons, son, Terry (Janet) Cross, daughter, Mayme Cross, son, Jessie (Carol) Cross, son, Ted (Rita) Cross, daughter, Lucille (Henry) Abernathy, daughter, Helen (Dwight) Maney, son, Tony Cross, brother, Joe (Glenda) Garrett, sister, Barbara King, brother, R.L. (Doris) Garrett, sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services: Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aud Brown and Rev. Billy Franklin officiating. Interment will follow inMartin Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy, Wednesday, September 21, 2011 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
