Mr. Paul Colditz, age 87 of Blairsville, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home. Mr. Colditz was born May 4, 1929 in Allard, TN to the late Bernhard and Mayme Galloway Colditz.
Paul had made Blairsville his home since August of 1970 when he came to work with the Georgia Mountain Experiment Station as a Horticulturist, and retired after 30 years of service. He received a Masters Degree from the University of Tennessee,and he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Colditz was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blairsville and the Blairsville Gideon Camp. Paul enjoyed gardening, playing golf and was an accomplished do it your selfer.
He was preceded in death by son, Darry L. Colditz and sister Mata Colditz
Survivors include: wife, June Colditz, daughter-in-law, Teresa Colditz, son, Dennis (Sheila) Colditz, son, daughter in law, Teresa Colditz, sister, sisters, Jo An Colditz Wheaton, Betty Lou Colditz Beaty, grandson, Aaron T. Eliza) Colditz, granddaughter, Caroline (Zack) Dillard, great grandchildren, Crosby Colditz and Baese Dillard.
Funeral services: Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 am from the First United Methodist Church of Union County with the Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in Allardt Cemetery in Allardt, TN. on Sunday at 2:00PM central time Members of the Gideon's will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the of the Cochran Funeral home Friday evening November 11,2016 from 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M..
