Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the deaths of Paul Clifford Ranquist, age 75, who passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, and his loving wife of 44 years, Diana Ferguson Ranquist, age 67, who passed away January 20, 2021. Mr. Ranquist was born May 17, 1945, in Portland, Maine to the late Elbert M. Ranquist and the late Mary Evelyn Mutch Ranquist. Mrs. Ranquist was born May 3, 1953, in Blue Ridge, Georgia to the late Amos Ferguson and the late Iliene Nichols Ferguson. Mr. Ranquist was prominent in AA for 20 years as well as the American Legion, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was very artistic and loved to draw. He also enjoyed fishing and loved his devoted dogs. Diana was a U.S. Navy veteran and a published author in addition to contributing work for the local paper. She was also a committed supporter of the Polk County Library. Her hobbies included crafting and gardening.
Survivors include: son, Reed Ranquist, daughter, Melissa (Frank) Curry-Miller, and grandchild, Tristan Curry.
Graveside services: Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. with the Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.
