Parks Kenneth Burger, age 73 of Turtletown, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007 at the Copper Basin Medical Center. Mr. Burger was born Thursday, May 3, 1934 in Polk County Tenn. to the late Robert Burger and the late Glee Hill Burger. He was a member of the Turtletown Baptist Church. He retired from the Tenn. Highway Dept. as a Supervisor, enjoyed working with electronics, and small engines.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Guy Burger, Robert Burger, Jr. and Winston Burger..
Survivors include: wife, Florence White Burger, son & daughter-in-law, Michael Parks & Glenda Burger of Blue Ridge, son & daughter-in-law, Gary Lamar & Janice Burger, sister, Carzel Sissum of Ducktown, sister, Hazel Harris of Copperhill, sister, Margie Gunter of Jasper, sister, Ruth Edwards, Tenn., sister, Carolyn Thomas of Copperhill, sister, Gwendlyn Galloway, of Ala, granddaughter, Candice & Todd Forrest, granddaughter & husband, Stacy W & Mark Wade, grandson & wife, Brandon Burger grandson and Jacoby Kellen Forrest great great grandson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ray Harper officiating. Music was provided by J.E. Thomas. Interment followed in Swanson Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Brandon Burger, Billy Joe Barnes, Carmel Gibson, Tom Keller, David Henry and Donnie Dills.
