Mr. Parker Lewis Foster, age 48, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Union General Hospital following a sudden injury. Parker was born on May 29, 1973 as the only child of Kendell and Frances Foster.
Parker was a bright, radiant light in every dim room. He was always smiling, cracking jokes, and never in a bad mood. He had a servant's heart and would drop everything to help you if you needed him, whether he knew you or not; all without complaint. He bestowed kindness and God's love everywhere he went. He lived his 48 years of life for the Lord, leading his family in the way of the Word, guiding others to Christ, and teaching the gospel to everyone in his path. His big heart and contagious joy will be gravely missed, but he has done more than enough work this side of Heaven. He has earned his final reward, and there is not a shadow of a doubt that he ran straight into the arms of Jesus.
Parker married the love of his life, Christy Griggs, on September 24, 1994. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with lots of love and precious memories.
Parker is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lewis Parker and Willie Foster and maternal grandparents, Dwight and Dorothy Byers. Surviving him are his wife, Christy Foster; daughters, Megan and Courtney Foster; parents, Kendell and Frances Foster. Many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends also survive.
Parker was a member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Every time the doors were open, he could be found in the congregation, teaching Sunday School, leading the youth, and singing in the choir.
For over 25 years, Parker was a dedicated metal fabricator and shop supervisor for four of those years with Chandler Equipment Company in Gainesville, Georgia.
Parker enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and creating things with his gifted hands.
