Mr. Oliver Edwards, age 90 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.
Mr. Edwards was born Friday, July 26, 1918 in Towns County, GA to the late Jim Edwards and the late Lillie Ramey Edwards. He attended Macedonian Baptist Church and was a custodian for many years with the Towns County School system. He was preceded in death by wife, Hazel Kirby Edwards.
Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Edith and Mac McNeese of Brownsburg, IN, son & daughter-in-law, N.L. and Becky Edwards of Hiawassee, GA, grandson, Jeff Edwards, granddaughters, Sheree Dippel and Phyllis Clemons, great grandchildren, Brandy Campbell, Cody Edwards, Alyssa and Kelly Dippel, Noah and Chantel Clemons, great great grandson, Adian Campbell, brother, Isaac Edwards of Canton, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Music will be provided by the Phillips Family. Interment will follow in Burch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Derwin Adkins, Richard Langston, Randall McConnell, Bruce Spiva, Truett Spiva, and Dennis Mathis. Honorary pallbearers include: Dale Penland, and Don Rowe.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 P.M., Monday, August 4.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
