Norman Owens

Norman A. Owens, 76, of Buford, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his Father Verlon Owens, Mother Margaret Dendy Owens and sister Doris Barker.

Norman is survived by his wife, Jane Owens, sons Jay Skeggs(Ginger), Brian Skeggs.  Grandchildren Stephen Skeggs(Casey), Brittanie Skeggs, Averi Skeggs.  He is also survived by two brothers Rufus Owens(Gloria) and Geter Owens(Rhonda) and several nieces and nephews.

Norman was a wonderful Christian man who loved God, family and friends.  He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Norman served in the United States Air Force.  He was retired from Ameriprise Financial Services as a Financial Advisor. 

The funeral services will be Monday, July 10, 2023 from the Chapel of Henry Cochran Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Rev. Danny Newbern officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  Jimmy Henry, Ricky Dillard, Blake Goggins, Kyle Goggins, Nick Goggins and Billy Landon. Honorary Pallbearers will include Bryan Owens, Jon Owens, Nick Owens, and Jeremy Owens. Interment will follow in the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Henry Cochran Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church or Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
