Norma Jean Waters

Norma Jean Waters, 82, of Epworth, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, at her home. Norma was born May 19, 1940, in Hothouse, North Carolina to the late John Nix and the late Mamie McDougal Nix.

Norma was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Nix and Frank Nix; and sisters, Barbara Williams, Dorothy Garren and Vanette Pack.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Waters; daughters, Martha (Richard) Panter and Laura (Cory) Beggs; son, Johnny Waters; sister Joan (David) McDaniel; grandchildren, Brandon Panter, Katlin Waters, Erin Beggs, and William Beggs; and great-grandchildren, Malichi Panter and Adelise Panter.

Norma loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren unconditionally and enjoyed spoiling them at every opportunity. She loved going on adventures with her family to the mountains and to the beach, cooking meals and delicious desserts for friends and family, exercising her gift of a green thumb in her garden and with her flowers, and offering her help to those in need. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church.

Funeral Service: Friday, August 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Ahrens & Rev. David Jones officiating. Music provided by Jennifer Ray. Interment will follow in the Epworth Methodist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Cory Beggs, Richard Panter, Bob Mathis, JR Gwynn, Robert Shinpaugh, Donny Shinpaugh, Tommy Ledford, and Larry King. Honorary Pallbearers, Lee McDaniel and Tommy Grindstaff.

The family will receive friends at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Friday, August 26, 2022, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
