Nellie Farmer Pittman, age 91, of Blue Ridge, passed away Saturday morning, October 16, 2021, at her residence at Blue Ridge Assisted Living Center. Nellie was born February 25, 1930, in Morganton to the late Floyd and Ora Colbert Farmer. She was an active member of Lebanon Baptist Church, she enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, and was very gracious at social interaction.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Pittman, brothers, Ernest Farmer and J.L. Farmer, sisters, Gertha Taylor, Gertie Sanders, and Loraine Farmer, and niece, Gail Nichols.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Gene Hitchcock, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Alice Pittman, grandchildren, Stan Hitchcock, Daniel (Sarah) Gray, and Anna Gray, great-grandchildren, Aidan Gonzalez, Andrew Gray, Dawson Cleland, Kalli Cleland, Tori Hitchcock, and Dylan Wiker, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, and Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Lebanon Baptist Church.
A celebration of life will follow on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 1:00 pm from the Lebanon Baptist Church in Epworth. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens.
