Nathaniel Lynn Hicks, age 46 of Murphy, passed away October 31, 2011 at the Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Nathaniel was born October 21, 1965 in Copperhill, TN to Sidney Lee Hicks and the late Mary Jane Prince Hicks. He enjoyed camping, fishing and playing cards with his grandkids.
Survivors include, daughters, Melanie Hicks, Melessia Hicks, Megan Hicks, and Marilyn Hicks, father, Sidney Hicks, half-sisters, Claudett Taylor, and Shirley Whitman, two grandchildren, Ashleigh Hicks, and William Womble.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Community Baptist Church with the Reverends Jonathan Smith, Mitchell Allen, and Carroll Weaver officiating. Music provided by Clyde Rose and the Joint Airs. Interment will follow in Brock Cemetery. Pallbearers include Pearly Mashburn, Michael Mashburn, Edd Allen, John Hicks, Scotty Payne, and Melvin Hicks. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Allen, Robert Allen, Eddy Allen, Rex Allen, Tom Hicks, Tim Hicks, Isacc Hicks, Stanley Dunn, T.J. Hicks, Steve Payne and Chad Linke.
The family will receive friends at the Community Baptist Church of Turtletown, Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm.
