Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Evelyn Nadine Tison, age 92 of Blairsville, passed away June 29, 2011 at Union County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Tison was born June 23, 1919 in Waycross, Georgia, to John Steven Strickland and Sally Mae Becton Strickland. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County. Preceding Mrs. Tison in death was her husband, James Russell Tison; son, James Russell Tison Jr.; grandson, Russell Bryner; three brothers: A.J. Strickland, Walter Strickland, Woodrow Strickland; four sisters: Elizabeth Maxwell, Janie Hague, Polly Herring, and Irene Smith.
She is lovingly remembered by family members: daughter, Judith (Renny) Bryner, sister, Madge Pennington, sister, Oveida Hague, grandson, Charles Barry Bryner, granddaughter, Leslie (Gary) Rybka, granddaughter, Michelle (Mike) Russell, great granddaughter, Lacey (Josh) Copeland Madrigal, great granddaughter, LeAnne Copeland, great grandchildren, Austin and Brady Russell, great great granddaughter, Lila Marie Madrigal.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tison have been scheduled for Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Chaz Bryner, Richard Wilson, Ed Turner, Carl Pennington, Gary Rybka, and Renny Bryner. Burial will be in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on the same day of the funeral - Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.
