Mildred Dittman, age 90, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Dittman was born July 16, 1927 in Lake City, Florida as the seventh of ten children, including three brothers and six sisters. She learned the Truth in 1956 after reading a booklet entitled "Basis for Belief in a New World" and joined the Jehovah's Witnesses, remaining a faithful servant all her life. She was baptized in the Atlantic Ocean in 1958 at Ormond Beach, Florida. Mrs. Dittman had a green thumb and loved raising orchids. She owned her own greenhouse and sold to the local florists in Daytona Beach, Florida. Her husband George Dittman passed away February 15, 1983, and in 1989 she moved to Blue Ridge, Georgia. Mildred never lost her passion for flowers or gardening. She was not able to garden anymore in her later years, but she received great joy just looking at her beautiful plants she had at her home. Her other passion was serving her God Jehovah. She was a faithful witness to Jehovah up to her death and although she could no longer speak clearly in her final days she clearly spoke Jehovah's name on several occasions. She will be missed by friends and family. She is survived by her sister Rachel Woolney, her daughter Ruth Dittman, her son Brian and daughter-in-law Candy Dittman, her grandson Wesley Dittman, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 4:00 pm from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Blue Ridge, Georgia, with Elder Daniel Allen Officiating.
