Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. Miguel Antonio Echemendia, age 86, of Blairsville, who passed away early Friday morning, August 24, 2012 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Mr. Echemendia was a native of Cuba, and had lived in this area since 2007, moving here from Spring City, Tennessee. He was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith. Mr. Echemendia was very mechanically minded, and always ready to help others. He could fix anything!
Mr. Echemendia will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, and especially remembered and missed by his loving family: wife, Amelia, of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Maria Echemendia, of Deer Lodge, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Mabel and Jose Zapater, Miami, Florida; and daughter and son-in-law, Dalila and Doug Davenport, of Blairsville; two sisters: Juana Echemendia, of Havana, Cuba, and Caridad Gonzales, of New York City, NY; three grandchildren: Samuel Echemendia, Joseph Zapater, and Madeline Ojeda; honorary granddaughters: Shawna R. Watkins, Melanie Rymer, and Megan Gribble; great grandchildren: Elijah Echemendia, Enoch Echemendia, Valentina Zapater, Angelina Zapater, Jonathan Ojeda, Julian Ojeda, Jean Paul Ojeda, Suzanna Echemendia, and Sarah Echemendia.
