Michael George Mathieu

Mr. Michael George Mathieu, Sr., age 69 of Murphy, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his home. Mr. Mathieu was born March 9, 1948 in Stanford, ME to the late Velmont Mathieu and Theresa Desjorden Mathieu. A member of St. William Catholic Church, he was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Patricia Pattee. Michael was retired from the Army ascending to the rank of Master Sergeant and serving in the Vietnam War. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf.

Survivors include wife of 51 years, Barbara Vega Mathieu, mother, Theresa Mathieu, son, Michael Mathieu Jr., daughter, Tania Mathieu, daughter, Michelle Mathieu, brother, Mark Mathieu, twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
