Michael Eugene Stephens

Mr. Michael Eugene Stephens, age 45, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2007 at his home. Mr. Stephens was born Monday, November 6, 1961 in Fulton County, Georgia, a son of Alfred Stephens and Pauline Butts Stephens. Michael had been living in Blairsville since 1974, moving here from Doraville, Georgia. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include: wife, Debra Lynn Garrett Stephens; his parents: Alfred and Pauline Butts Stephens; daughter and son-in-law Brandy and Kevin Mullins; grandchildren: Keltsey, Keyla, Keyton, and Kevin Mullins, all of Blairsville.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11 am from the New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon McDonald officiating. Music will be provided by Terry Hooper, Alice McDonald, and Terry Sosebee. Interment will follow in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery on Cobb Mountain Road. Serving as pallbearers are the following gentlemen: Ronnie Coker, Bobby Dillinger, John Barrett, Craig Stephens, Doug Garrett, Terry Sosebee, Tim Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers include the following gentlemen: Richard Coker and Alan Coker.

The family will receive friends at New Hope Baptist Church in Blairsville, from 6-9, Friday, October 19.

Flowers will be accepted, however, if you wish to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests that donations may be made to New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
